Day 1 – Arrival @Colombo Airport

Day 2 to 5 – Bentota OR Hikkaduwa OR Mirissa

• Visit the World Heritage Site; Galle Fort & City; Galle is the best example of a fortified city built by Europeans in South and South-East Asia, showing the interaction between European architectural styles and South Asian traditions. The Galle Fort is a world heritage site and the largest remaining Fortress in Asia built by European occupiers
• Boat Safari in Madhu River
• Visit a Turtle Conservation Center
• Visit The Lunuganga Estate [Bawa Gardens/Brief Gardens – Optional – was the country house of the renowned Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa. The estate had been used as a cinnamon estate during the Dutch era and then a rubber plantation under the British. In 1948, the small house in the estate was given on rent to the local tax collector. In 1949 newly qualified lawyer Geoffrey Bawa bought it from its owner intending to convert the estate bungalow into a weekend house and create a tropical version of a European renaissance garden. The 6.1 ha (15 acres) property is located on the banks of the Dedduwa Lake, in Bentota. Bawa named the estate Lunuganga, which in Sinhala means Salt River. Recognising his lack of architectural knowledge Bawa returned to England to study architecture. After qualifying as an architect he returning to Ceylon in 1958 and joined the architectural practice of Edwards, Reid and Beggs

Day 6 – Bentota OR Hikkaduwa OR Mirissa – Udawalawe OR Yala

• Leave for Udawalawa after Breakfast at leisure; Check in to the Hotel & relax
• Go on the Evening Safari in the National Park7eningwe in time to o go on a Safari in Udawalawe – The Udawalawa National Park is the only place in the world where an elephant sighting is guaranteed on every game drive. It is an excellent place to observe elephant behavior and to get up close and personal with these amazing animals in herds of about 50 to 100 elephants being sighted regularly. There are also 183 species of birds and 45 species of mammals recorded at Udawalawa. Another fantastic feature of the Udawalawa National Park is the Elephant Transit Home – a project that has proven vital to the conservation of these magnificent creatures.
• Yala National Park is the most popular National park among the Locals and the foreign visitors. It is famous for Small and large herds of Elephants, Spotted Deer, Sambur, Barking Deer, Monkey, Wild Boer, Wild Buffalo, Sloth Bear and a wide varieties of bird species endemic and migratory. The majestic Peacock is the most famous of the birds and will captivate the visitor with its mating dance with the colorful plumes spread.

Day 7 – Udawalawe OR Yala – Ella

• Morning Safari in the National Park
• Travel to Ella after morning activities
• Check in to the Hotel & Relax

Day 8 – Ella

• Trek to Little Adam’s Peak, Ella Gap View, Lipton’s Seat, Demodara Nine Arch Bridge
• Little Adam’s Peak lays on the eastern edge of the Ella Gap, straight across from the (much higher) summit at Ella Rock, which we had climbed two mornings prior. The views are similar, but from Little Adam’s Peak you can see the Ruwana Falls, which border the highway headed south.
• The Nine Arches Bridge is one of the most iconic bridges in Sri Lanka and is one of the best examples of British railway constructions when Ceylon was yet a colony of the British Empire. It is located in Demodara, between Ella and Demodara railway stations. It is often likened to the countryside through which the fictional Hogwarts express passes through in the Harry Potter world.
• The Lipton’s Seat lookout is one of Sri Lanka’s most impressive viewpoints (unless it’s misty and cloudy of course, which is why early morning is the best time to visit). The Scottish tea baron Sir Thomas Lipton used to survey his burgeoning empire from here, and today it’s said you can see across emerald hills and tea estates to no fewer than seven different provinces.

Day 9 – Ella – Nuwara Eliya – Kandy

• Proceed to Ella Railway Station in time [09:30am] for the Train to Nuwara Eliya – Enjoy the most picturesque Railway stretch in the island. Vehicle will pick you from Nanuoya railway Station and take you to Nuwara Eliya.
• Proceed by the Car to Nuwara Eliya; Nuwara Eliya is the land of peace, and silence was called the hill station by the English Tea Planters during the colonial era. This is a very picturesque location almost 1,950 Meters above sea level with its soft English spring climate. Yet you could see nostalgia of the British Colonial era the town is decorated with buildings ranging in style from Georgian to Queen Anne. Parks, Trout Streams, 18 holes Golf Course.
• Visit a Tea Plantation & Factory. See Waterfalls on the way to Kandy
• Proceed to Kandy; Witness a Traditional Cultural Dance Show & Visit the Temple of Tooth Relic – OPTIONAL
• Visit the Kandy Town Bazaar, the Arts and Crafts Center and a Gem Museum & Lapidary, etc…
• Stay Overnight in Kandy

Day 10 – Kandy – Sigiriya

• Leave for Sigiriya after Breakfast.
• Visit a spice Garden on the way to see many different types of spices Sri Lanka is famous for. You will be introduced to different spices and shown how some of these spices are grown and processed. Visitors may buy spices, traditional remedies and cosmetics, taste an herbal brew and in some venues
• Visit Dambulla Rock Caves Temple – OPTIONAL en-route; dating back to the 1st century BC, this is the most impressive cave temple in Asia. It has five caves under a vast overhanging rock, carved with a drip line to keep the interiors dry. Inside the caves, the ceilings are painted with intricate patterns of religious images following the contours of the rock.

Day 11 – Sigiriya – Negombo

• Climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress after an early Breakfast. Take plenty of water and a snack with you. Sigiriya (Lion’s Rock) is an ancient Rock Fortress and Palace ruin situated in the central Matale District of Sri Lanka, surrounded by the remains of an extensive network of gardens, reservoirs, and other structures. A popular tourist destination, Sigiriya is also renowned for its ancient paintings (frescos), which are reminiscent of the Ajanta Caves of India. The Sigiriya was built during the reign of King Kassapa I (AD 477– 495), and it is one of the seven World Heritage Sites of Sri Lanka. Sigiriya may have been inhabited through prehistoric times. It was used as a rock-shelter mountain monastery from about the 5th century BC, with caves prepared and donated by devotees to the Buddhist Sangha. According to the chronicles as Mahavamsa the entire complex was built by King Kashyapa, and after the king’s death, it was used as a Buddhist monastery until 14th century.
